Three times in 2025 we set up at the Sono Pet festival, held at a resort where the dogs get the run of wide wooden decks. It is exactly the surface our fence customers ask about most, so we brought the fence and let the dogs answer.
A resort built around dogs
The venue is Sono Felice at Vivaldi Park, the flagship dog-friendly resort of one of Korea's largest resort groups: rooms, lawns and restaurants all designed for people who refuse to leave the dog at home. For the festival weekends in June, September and October, its grounds turn into a small fairground, and the lawn arena below carried our banners alongside the resort's own.
What the festival looks like
The June edition opened the fenced lawn arena in the photo above, lined end to end with HOUT and Sono Pet banners, where the weekend's dog games ran in heats through the afternoon. September brought the biggest crowd of the three. October was the quiet one, and quiet suited it: that was the weekend we dedicated to the deck fence setup, photographed properly for once instead of between customers.
The deck question, answered on a deck
US customers keep asking us whether a portable fence works on wood decking, where stakes are useless. October's session was our chance to run that setup at scale: fence panels standing on smooth resort decks, weighted and arranged instead of staked, with tents inside for shade. The dogs spent whole afternoons in there while their owners had lunch a few meters away.
Two Italian Greyhounds, the escape artists of the dog world, gave the panel height a proper audit. A curious terrier mix preferred chin-on-the-rail surveillance. Both behaviors are worth more to us than a hundred survey answers, because they show where a fence needs height and where it just needs visibility.

Why a resort venue is a useful test
A resort has standards a fairground does not. Floors must stay unmarked, noise must stay reasonable, and anything a guest's dog interacts with reflects on the venue, so the bar for what gets set up on their decks is higher than at a trade hall. Being invited back twice in the same year is the kind of endorsement we value precisely because nobody wrote it down; the second invitation is the review.

Does the fence damage decking? We ran it on the resort's own decks for three festival weekends with the venue's blessing. As with any furniture on wood, sweep grit out from under the feet before setting up.
Can I visit the resort with my dog? Yes, that is its entire point. The festival itself runs on selected weekends; we post the dates we attend on our Instagram.
