Our Story

“With my companion,
no matter where.”

The promise behind every product we make.

A wide view of a campsite at golden hour, set up with HOUT outdoor gear for dogs and their people

It started with our own dogs

HOUT began in Seoul with a familiar frustration. Our dogs came everywhere with us, but their gear could not keep up; it sagged, it chafed, or it was clearly made for small dogs and short trips. So we started building our own: a sturdier cot, a harness that spread pressure across the chest instead of the throat, a tent a big dog could actually stretch out in. What began as gear we made for ourselves grew into a brand, and the habit never changed. We still design for the dog sleeping next to our desk.

Designed in-house, proven outdoors

Every HOUT product starts as a sketch in our Seoul studio and has to earn its place outside. We build a prototype, pack it into the car, and use it the way you would: weekend campsites, river trails, long drives with a dog in the back seat. When a buckle sticks or a seam gives, it goes back to the bench. That is why our cots, tents, and air beds are sized for big dogs, and why the details hold up after the hundredth trip, not just the first.

From Seoul to wherever you are

Today our gear travels with dogs across Korea and Japan — and now, the United States and Taiwan. The lineup has grown to strollers, car seats, fences, and most of what fits between a trailhead and a tailgate, but the standard has not changed: if we would not trust it with our own dogs, we do not ship it. We are still a small team, and we like it that way. It keeps us close to the products, and to the people and dogs who use them.

Wherever you are headed next, we hope the answer to
“Can the dog come?” is always yes.
