Some of our favorite photos of HOUT gear were never taken in a studio. They came from a rainy April weekend at GO OUT Camp, a camping festival where the dogs seemed to outnumber the tents.
Three days on the west coast
GO OUT Camp is one of Korea's big outdoor festivals: campers arrive on Friday, build a small canvas town on an open field, and live in it until Sunday. In April 2024 we brought a booth and, more importantly, gear for the tent village itself, so our fences, tents and cots were not sitting on a display shelf. They were staked into wet ground, leaned on, slept in and climbed over for three days.

It rained for most of the weekend. Nobody plans for that, but for an outdoor gear brand it is the most useful weather there is. Seams, zippers, ground anchoring and fabric coatings all get tested at once, in public, by strangers who did not read the instructions. What failed got noted. What held is still in the lineup.

What we actually learned
Festival weekends produce lessons that no office meeting can. Wet ground swallows short stakes, so we now tell customers to carry the longer ones whenever rain is in the forecast, and that advice comes straight from watching a corner post lean at hour six. Cots earned their keep in the rain more than in the sun: dogs that refused a soaked groundsheet hopped onto the raised mesh without being asked. And tarps turned out to be the real social hub of a dog campsite, which is why the group photo below exists at all.
We also learned something about our own booth manners. A wet dog does not care about your product story; it cares about the towel. The staff who understood that had the best conversations of the weekend, usually five minutes after the toweling.
The dogs ran the place
The photos tell it better than we can. Dogs in rain suits patrolling the tent rows, a border collie supervising camp like it was payroll, and entire packs settling under tarps when the drizzle picked up. Our orange bandanas, handed out at the booth, kept showing up on dogs we had never met by Sunday.

The booth itself stayed simple: a table of grooming and walk gear, foam boards, and staff who spent more time toweling off visiting dogs than selling. That is roughly the right priority for a festival like this.

Quick questions
Is the gear at the festival the same as the US store's? Same products, same factories. The US store carries a subset of the Korean lineup.
Did the rain change anything you sell? It sharpened how we describe things. Where a fabric is water-resistant rather than waterproof, our listings say so in those words, because we have watched the difference matter on a wet field.
Will you be there again? We plan festival seasons year by year and post upcoming dates on our Instagram.
