Someone left this on one of our ads last week: "$89 shipping. No thank you." That is a fair reaction, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a shrug.
Here it is. The fence ships from Seoul, Korea by air, and it is heavy. One set weighs about 11 lb (5 kg) boxed. Air freight is billed by weight bracket, so the number you see at checkout is pulled from a carrier rate table, not set by us per order. Nothing is added after you pay, and nothing arrives later as a surprise bill.
That explains the number. It does not make it small. So the more useful question is the one further down this page: what actually lowers it.
Why it weighs what it weighs
A $30 folding playpen is light because it is a plastic frame with a mesh skin. Ours is not that. The panels are canvas with mesh windows, and they are held up by steel poles that slide into sewn sleeves. That is what lets a panel stay upright on a windy beach site instead of folding over.
The weight is the cost of that build. We could make it lighter by using thinner poles and lighter fabric, and shipping would drop. It would also stop doing the job you bought it for. So the honest framing is not "shipping is expensive" but "this is a heavy product, and heavy products cost money to fly across an ocean."
The one thing that lowers it: order sets together
This is the part most people miss, and it is worth real money.
Shipping is billed per box, not per set. When you order two or three sets in one order, they go out combined in a single box, and the bracket moves up far less than the count does. Buying three sets separately means paying for three boxes.
Using the numbers on our own checkout today:
- Three sets bought separately: $350.97 in product, plus shipping three times, comes to about $589.
- Three sets bought as one "3 Sets" option: same $350.97 in product, one combined box, comes to about $546.
That is roughly $43 saved for the same items, purely from how it is boxed. Two sets together saves about $19 the same way.
Per set, the shipping works out lowest on the 3 Sets option and highest if you buy single sets one at a time. If you already know you want more than one set, whether for a bigger perimeter or a second campsite, ordering them in one go is simply cheaper than coming back later.
What about duties?
Import duties are calculated at checkout and shown to you before you pay, alongside shipping. They are collected with the order rather than billed to you on delivery, so the total on the payment screen is the total. If you have had a package held for a surprise customs charge before, that is the situation this avoids.
Delivery runs about 7 to 14 business days from Seoul, Korea.
So is it worth it?
That depends on what you are replacing. If a light folding pen holds your dog fine on a flat lawn, it is the better buy and we would rather you keep it. The people who write to us about this fence are usually the ones whose dog leaned on the cheap one until it tipped, or who camp on sand and gravel where a plastic frame will not stay put.
If that is you, the shipping number is real and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that ordering in one shipment is where the savings actually are.

Is shipping cheaper if I order more? Not cheaper in total, but cheaper per set, because the sets travel in one combined box instead of separate ones. The comparison above shows the difference.
Will I be billed anything after delivery? No. Shipping and duties are both calculated and paid at checkout.
